Seipati Galane

Regional Head of Membership,
Africa

Seipati is a self-motivated and resilient individual who aspires to be a Developmental Economist. I am particularly interested in development and growth in Southern Africa; how economic factors and industry dynamics can best be used to serve growth.

I am currently a survey analyst intern in an investment firm, within which I exercise critical thinking and methodological approaches to data analysis. I am responsible for collecting financial performance data and preparing market performance reports for a portfolio of asset managers. I therefore take a keen interest in current affairs surrounding financial markets and the domestic economic environment.

I am also a student, studying my Masters in Development Economics. In my leisure time, I thoroughly enjoy jamming to soul music, dancing and most importantly, spending time with family.

I have joined the Young Global Economist Society in attempts to have impactful involvement in communities and to better understand and improve the world in which we live through economics, policy analysis and solution development. Through the society, I also hope to meet other young economists and build a community of economic thinkers and changer makers.
