Ganessen Chinnapen

Ganessen Chinnapen was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Bank of Mauritius in March 2020.

Ganessen is a development economist with more than 14 years of experience in the United Kingdom, Mauritius, and across Africa.

He has worked in International Development in London and has been involved in several research & consultancy projects on the financial crisis and safeguard packages with the London School of Economics and The University of Manchester from October 2007 to December 2008 prior to his return to Mauritius.

Since then, Mr. Chinnapen has undertaken several consultancy assignments both for the government and private sector firms in Mauritius and across a few African countries. Mr. Chinnapen holds an MSc in Development Economics & Policy from the Global Development Institute based at The University of Manchester.
