Pheladi Masemola

Pheladi Masemola holds a BCom in Economics from the University of the Free State and completed a BCom Honours in Economics from the University of South Africa (UNISA) in 2023. She is currently enrolled in an Advanced Diploma in Real Estate with the University of Johannesburg.

She has also completed a course with Franklin Templeton Academy through the ABSIP Investment Certificate Programme. Additionally, she took the CFA ESG course and wrote the exam in February 2024, although she did not achieve the passing mark.

Pheladi’s research interests are in Financial Economics and Public Finance, with her current role being within the Public Finance department in Local Government. She works as a Property Rates and Maintenance Clerk (2020–present) in the Finance Department at the City of Matlosana Local Municipality. Prior to this role, she was a National Treasury Municipal Finance Intern within the same organization.

She also has experience in the private sector, having worked as a Community Intern under the Supply Chain Department at AngloGold Ashanti Limited for a year in 2016.
